Synopsis:

While on the search for a missing scroll of a prized landscape painting, Zuo Qing Ci, a young noble disguised as a skilled physician, meets Fei Kou’er, a thief who is a master of disguise and skilled in Qinggong. She is later revealed to be Su Yun Luo, a young girl who steals valuable medicines from various sects to save her teacher. Zuo Qing Ci steps into the murky waters of the pugilist world to help Su Yun Luo, and belatedly realizes that his actions have caused the deaths of his loved ones at the hands of political rivals. Zuo Qing Ci ultimately decides to enter politics to avenge the death of his family members and purge the court of corrupt officials once and for all.

  1. A watchable drama. Altho with many plot holes and some times thoroughly illogical especially in the court intrigue parts and too much time on flashbacks accompanied by a full orchestra. The good parts were the relationship stories,(romance minus the silly air ballets and brotherhood), the kick-ass fight scenes, the beautiful cinematography and some good dialogues. In fact the central theme seems to be just about the relationships with the rest as backdrop at convenient times. Of the 3 couples, the character I really could not stand is Shen MannQing. The oldest of the 3 ladies, supposedly the principal student and inheritor of a great fighting academy and yet repeatedly showed less sense and maturity than a snivelling kid. But really loved the cool Wen Si Yuan, the loyal Yin ChangGe & the sunshine Jiang Er. Also love the theme song and the BGMs. And, everyone looks like real people and not plasticky. That is a plus point for me. Haha.
