Moon Lovers – Scarlet Heart: Ryeo

This drama is based on Chinese novel “Bu Bu Jing Xin” by Tong Hua which was originally published online in 2005 on Jinjiang Original Network. The novel also adapted into the chinese television series “Scarlet Heart” which was aired in Hunan Broadcasting System (HBS) from 2011-Sep-10 to 2011-Sep-29 and also “Scarlet Heart 2” which was aired in Zhejiang STV (ZJTV) from 2014-Apr-22 to 2014-May-07. This drama was fully pre-produced before airing which is a departure from the live-shoot production format that characterizes most Korean dramas. The Filming Began on 2016-Jan and Completed on 2016-June-30. The series will be simulcast in China. The story set up in the early of Goryeo regime. Hae Soo (IU), a 25 year old girl from modern era got transported back to Goryeo dynasty and got trapped in the conflicts and struggles between princes of Wang’s House. There, she falls in love with Wang So (Lee Joon Ki) who makes other people tremble with fear.

  5. Oh I cry so much I even got headache for 2 days because of this movie I can’t even sleep well I cry a lot it is so tragic I wish I could not remember I watch this movie again ?

    1. I know how you feel it, totally understood it. I was the same, i felt like i loose somebody,heartbreaking one, It was shocking for me and i wanted to forget it too. But i m after it a few years later, and i can re-watch it 🙂 Amazing drama to causing this much emotion-rolling.

  6. Hey guys I know you all are heart broken. I may be able to fix it. Go to Rakuten Viki and search Scarlet heart. Its the same story but was made in mainland china. There is a season 2 as well. Acting may not be as good as the korean one. But you may find some peace and closure. Storyline is exactly the same ….romance with the fourth prince.

  7. Never have I cried Soo much. My heart is broken. I love this drama. I hate not being able to control my tears. I can’t even breath properly from all the crying. Heart wrenching, mind blowing. Amazing acting, my emotion is all over the place.

  8. If kdrama u want, kdrama u will get. Heart-wrenching until the very end. I think I cried a bucket of tears. I just finished watching when I should have done it years ago. I hope this will get a season 2.

I cried from starting to the end i never liked historical drama but i think i love em now after watching this i always thought i was a cold hearted person but this drama really made my heart melt i think am obsessed with iu now she is the best ??? to all the actors in this drama you guys are best ?

  35. I love MLSHR so much. I’ve watch both Chinese ver 1 & 2 but the korean remake is so much more heart-wrenching. I watched it back in 2016 but didn’t complete it as it was a very busy time for me and only recently did I revisit this drama to watch it in whole and I am floored by the range of emotions it invoked in me. As with BBJX, I am not happy with the ending and find myself reading fanfics online. Due the drama not being well received domestically, there will not be a MLSHR 2 which is just unfortunate because our favorite OTP definitely deserves a happy ending!

  41. This is my first korean series as I am such a fan of IU. Loved the perio drama series and now a new fan of Lee Joon-gi! The characters are so well developed and Han Soo is such a lovable character.
