Synopsis: The Chinese drama “Three Lives Three Worlds: The Pillow Book” tells the romance story of a nine-tailed fox and a former emperor that spans 2000 years.

Bai Feng Jiu is the Queen of Qingxiu. As the only nine-tailed fox in Qingxiu, she is pampered by everyone. She loves to cry and manipulate others, but at the same time, persistent and bold. One day, while she is in the mountains, a beast attacks her. Fortunately, the former Emperor of Heaven Dun Hua passes by and saves her. To repay him, Feng Tszyu decides to follow him into battle with the Demon Lord. Soon, she realizes that her gratitude for Dong Hua has turned into love, but Dun Hua has long forgotten what love is. To keep her safe, Dong Hua sends her to the mortal world. However, the guard who goes together with her dies suddenly. While trying to get the fruit of immortality which can let the guard be reborn, Feng Jiu finds herself in the temple of the ghost princess.

Based on a Chinese novel by Tang Qi Gong Zi.

  1. As someone mentioned before, FJ’s acting was a bit more annoying than expected during her time as the fox. It’s unfortunate tbh. Wasn’t feeling the chemistry between ML/FL at first either but they definitely grew on me!

    I’m glad I stayed until the end because the rest was worth it!! Liked it enough to recommend.

    1. Came back after watching Eternal Love/Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms (58 eps).

      I should’ve watched them in reverse order, but I can now understand the significance of the ML/FL relationship, lian song as the ultimate wingman, cheng yu’s playful nature, etc. A-Li’s character has a whole new meaning in terms of how he was used to weave the characters together. Ahhh if you haven’t seen Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms, go go go!!

  34. I love TMOPB and familiar with FJ story. We all know how FJ’s character is but they managed to make her even more childish and silly in this new series ? there’s a fine line between childish but cute VS childish and annoying. So far, FJ’s character is getting more on the annoying side. ?

    I look forward to seeing how her character is going to develop later.

    The actor who plays Zhe Yan is definitely cuter than the one in TMOPB but he’s too young looking and doesn’t have that older high immortal god vibes as the original one in TMOPB. Zhe Yan is in the same generation as the Fox clan King so I think they should’ve chosen an older looking actor to play Zhe Yan.

    Since they made a story about A-li, I hope YangMi and Mark will make a surprise appearances? One can only hope ?✌

    Look forward to watching more episodes in English subtitles.
